Suzy Hawkins - Founder, Athlete, Coach & Therapist

I'm Suzy, competing athlete, endurance coach, sports massage therapist and mum to 2 boys. I founded Evolve Endurance Coaching to help others reach their training potential and endurance sport goals whilst juggling busy lives. I pride myself on providing coaching that works for YOU and YOUR LIFE.

I feel so lucky to have made the sports that have played such a huge role in my own life into my job. I love running and triathlon both in terms of competing and training myself and it is a wonderful privilege to help others on their way to reach their potential.

My Journey Into Endurance Coaching

I was introduced to training and competing at 8 years old when I paddled a kayak, and I was fortunate enough to make it into the national junior development sprint team as a teenager and the national senior elite marathon team winning an internal medal as a young adult. This is where my interest and education in individuals' response to training began.

I took up running and triathlon at 30 and soon after made it into the British age group team winning a European long course silver medal, I  completed my first Ironman distance race, and generally fell in love with the sport, before taking a break to have my children, for a few years I simply enjoyed sports recreationally.

Once my boys hit school age I had another go at training for performance. I am so happy to have achieved: multiple podium finishes in age group at both IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3, qualification for both IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 world championships, GB age group representation in sprint duathlon, British marathon championship qualification (at 45 years) world masters marathon qualification, I feel proud of my achievements as I am really not a natural athlete, the success I have had is down to my knowledge around training, and I am even more excited to pass that knowledge on and help others

I qualified and worked as a registered nurse before training in sports massage, a job I really enjoy, but it became very obvious that training mistakes, lack of strength, and poor technique were bringing frustrated injured athletes back to me time and again.  I didn't just want to rub them better, I wanted to help by planning their training load in a smart way, to become stronger, more robust, and complete athletes , and move in the way humans have evolved too before 21 century living took its toll.
